According to North Korea’s official Rodong Sinmun newspaper, the country is prepared to respond to any aggression against the United States.
North Korea was angered when a US Navy strike group, including the USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier, diverted towards the Korean peninsula amid high tension.
A statement in the newspaper warned: “Our revolutionary army is keenly watching every move by enemy elements with our nuclear sights focused on the US invasionary bases, not only in South Korea and the Pacific operation theatre, but also in the US mainland.”
The statement comes amid concerns that the reclusive North may soon conduct a sixth nuclear test.
Trump, who held talks in Florida with the Chinese premier last week, tweeted: “I explained to the President of China that a trade deal with the US will be far better for them if they solve the North Korean problem!
North Korea is looking for trouble. If China decides to help, that would be great. If not, we will solve the problem without them! U.S.A.
